Your must-read

What weโ€™re writing

Are we making some incredibly bold predictions? Well, you should be the judge. That said, we truly believe that blockchain tech has some incredible potential.

Take the widespread use of AI. It's already hard to distinguish real pictures or even videos from AI-generated versions. So how are we suppose to trust anything on social media anymore? (And yes, "trust" as a concept may have been a bit of a stretch in the past already.)

That's where digital IDs may come in, based on blockchains. You can prove that you're a human being and establish credibility.

There's a lot of other stuff as well. Decentralized applications could be more widely adapted as regulation makes progress. And obviously, there's something about AI.

What weโ€™re reading

Here's another set of predictions. Venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) has outlined several key technological trends anticipated for 2025.

That includes enterprises adopting stablecoins for payments, governments exploring the use of blockchains for things like government bonds and more standardisation.

We might even see the first crypto app stores popping up. In turn, that would help to engage people who already own cryptocurrencies so that they would use crypto-based services much more than in the past.

It's a good read with some food for thought and useful links. We'll see how much of this will become a reality in the coming months.

Your turn now

What weโ€™re trying

You should enjoy sports to follow our suggestion. Lots of people do, and lots of people also like to play in fantasy leagues. You register, set up a team and your players will then collect points based on the real-life performance of the actual players.

That's what Sorare does but with a twist. In addition to fantasy games, you can collect cards of your players. Do you remember trading cards as a kid? It's that but in a digital format.

So how is that related to blockchain tech? It's simple. The cards are so-called non-fungible tokens. That means there's only a limited supply and you can buy and sell them. Sorare makes sure that the tech is very much in the background though.

It's a Web3 game that doesn't feel like you're touching any cryptocurrencies at all. And you can of course try it all for free for as long as you want.
